Forrester Names Azion a Strong Performer in Edge Dev

We’re honored to announce that Azion has been named a strong performer in The Forrester Wave™: Edge Development Platforms, Q4 2023. The report evaluated 12 of the most significant edge development platform providers on the market against Forrester’s extensive criteria to help application development and delivery professionals select the right one to meet their needs.

Running applications at the edge offers many advantages including lower latency, cost effectiveness, and faster and more timely insights. While distributing workloads where they can deliver maximum value to customer engagement is no small feat, modern solutions can help organizations to more easily develop, deploy and maintain applications at the edge so that they can leverage those benefits.

Today’s edge development platforms are increasingly enterprise-grade, featuring robust web application security, AI-enhanced workload affinity, and support for a variety of use cases and workload types. As one of the vendors in the Strong Performer category in the Forrester report, Azion received the fourth highest score in the Runtime Execution Environment criterion, one of the highest scores in the Programming Model criterion, and the top score in the Observability criterion.

According to the report, “Azion’s platform reflects its market positioning, which aims to empower large enterprise developers to build and deploy full-stack applications to a managed edge infrastructure. Its vision and market approach align well with market trends, focusing on open standards, allowing developers to bring their preexisting development tools and practices to edge development, and reducing the operations overhead of delivering distributed applications.” Forrester report also added that “Azion is a good fit for large enterprises seeking to accelerate innovation at the edge with serverless full-stack applications.”

“As edge interest is increasing, there is a demand for solutions that can help accelerate this adoption within organizations,” said Rafael Umann, Azion’s CEO. “Based on feedback from developers, Azion’s global edge computing platform simplifies how developers build and run modern applications anywhere so that they can boost performance and resiliency for better business results. We believe the recognition from Forrester validates our efforts and proves that our innovative solution is a strong asset to help solve a critical challenge and positively impact infrastructure and operations.”

This recognition comes on the heels of GigaOm naming Azion a Market Leader and Fast Mover for Edge Platforms, and the company winning the Frost & Sullivan’s 2023 North American New Product Innovation Award.
